Section 27 returns with their explosive (Sectioned) compilation series as V8.0 pours 41 tracks into a 4 hour experimental electronic music vessel. It goes without question that the imprint which debuted in 2009 would continue to amass a creative roster (and following) with their expressive and on-point selections highlighting the outer edges of abstract sound sculpting. From ADJ’s futuristic electro tentacles, AlzAlya DrOwL’s flickering braindance extracts, ATTIX’s downtempo grooves, Datolar’s sound synthesis glitch, Dissolved’s nostalgic sonic swirling, exm’s wide-angle ambient fizz-fuzz lens, HATCH’s explosive breakbeat funk, Johnny Jitters’ decomposed blips’n acid, KimCosmik’s ghostly beat box collage, Michael Valentine West’s minimized distortion crunch, Mitoma & Stormfield’s plasma-induced breaks, P è n i n ș o l a r’s devolving synth beats, Room of Wires’ rugged yet minimal industrial punch, ûføløgist’s brittle 90s electronica/percussive surplus, Veronica Green’s effervescent IDM / green acid-glitch veil, and XZICD’s dark breakbeat video game amalgam, V8.0 contains a fully functional auditory smorgasbord that should not be ignored.
