'The Hospice' is the fourth full-length album by The Industrialism and it was released in *date* on our label. Following the past ambient experiments from the project, the album features long minimal, droning compositions created from heavily treated and slowed tape recordings of strings and piano. It’s the first concept album of the project and tells a sonically autobiographical story of a patient going down on its own downward spiral in a hospice. The album was recorded in 2 hours at Hospice of Virginia, in Richmond in July 2011, Virginia (where the album’s name was taken) and it was remastered on tapes in April 2013.
We weren’t disposed to release huge-length drone music for now, but this album caught us in the first listen. This long drones seem to merge with the emptiness that occurs in a place like that and in a lonely mind like his.
Despite of having a concept somewhat cold and sad, we found this album so very healing. If you forget the original concept and just pay attention to the music, you’ll find this record like a perfect tool for inner healing and the healthy energy canalization for daily stress. Take a sit and prepare for a long way down the stairs of your mind and soul.
