We were apart of the contemporary music "scene" for a while, we were searching for Drone-Ambient oriented records as you could listen in our previous releases.
One day, few months ago, we noticed that a very young girl was following us on SoundCloud and I decided to take a look at her profile, good decision. I couldn't believe what I found that morning. Her name: Clara de Asís (yes, as the saint. Also a beautiful name). Prolific musician and sound artist from Spain, based in Marseille, France.
I got shocked when I listened to her 'music', because for this time in which true fans of meeting the various forms, languages and contexts of sound are seeking for something that motivates this purpose and research, really like to find interesting sounds like those which Clara handles. Contemporary electroacoustique becomes more than just a source of sound resources that interact with each other, as shown by Clara's work, to interact with the listener and make him/herself a sound partner, an interlocutor, of the speech. Albums as short as this one, we recommend them to start practicing attentive listening if you're venturing into the world of sound art.

Clara de Asís was born in 1988 in Spain. She's an electroacoustic music composer, a sound-seeker, and also a guitarist who practices improvised music. She builds her own own electronic sound machines and has been part of the first Laptop orchestra of Andalucia Tech in 2010. Clara has participated in many experimental music festivals as FamFest, Intr:muros Lab or UBICUA'12. Her sound pieces had been promoted in France Musique, Radio Grenouille, Radia and La Cité de la Musique Marseille, where she pursues studies on electroacoustic composition.
Memoryscapes is a compilation of three electroacoustique sound pieces that were composed successively between November 2012 and February 2013 in Marseille, France. Even if they were not expressly conceived as part of the same album, each composition came of to be a sort of prolongation of the precedent one, emerging from a common query, where subjectivity and personal introspection are a choice. This three compositions are essentially build from fragments of remembrances; sound recordings that, for the artist, represent the sonification of the memory itself. When she manipulates the sounds, she's composing, in a way of memoryscape.
