Pohañaná Records empieza en el 2016, tras ver una necesidad de brindar una plataforma de difusión sonora para artistas, músicos, productores, etc. en Paraguay y alrededores, teniendo en cuenta lo poco desarrollada, elitista y "mainstream" de la industria musical paraguaya. Pohañaná significa medicina herbal, en la lengua nativa hablada en Paraguay, el guaraní; nos pareció adecuado el nombre ya que creemos que la música es una de las medicinas más efectivas en este mundo. Nos interesa crear vínculos entre manipuladores de sonido de todo tipo y promover la creación acústica libre de barreras, violencia y prejuicios.
Creemos que las ideas y los impulsos creativos son mucho más importantes que la fama o los bienes económicos, es por eso que apoyamos todo tipo de proyectos sonoros, priorizando el valor humano de cada artista o grupo de artistas por sobre la capacidad de venta o el potencial de "agrado" que podría tener hacia las masas.

Pohañaná Records starts in 2016, after feeling the necessity to provide a sound diffusion platform for artists, musicians, producers, etc. in Paraguay and surrounding areas, taking into account the under developed, elitist and "mainstream" aspects of the Paraguayan musical industry. Pohañaná means medicinal herb in the native tongue spoken in Paraguay, guarani, and we thought the name to be fitting since we believe that music is one of the most effective medicines in this world. We are interested in creating bonds among sound manipulators of all kinds and promoting acoustic creation free of barriers, violence and prejudice.
We believe that ideas and creative urges are much more important than fame or economic goods, that's why we support all kinds of sonic projects, prioritizing the human value of each artist or group of artists over sale capacity or potencial of liking they could have over the masses.
