Just not Normal has been about since June 2008 and has now passed a 100 releases with a rapidly growing catalog. Birthed from the Not the Normal Shit radio show (www.ntnsradio.wordpress.com) the initial idea was to release some of the works I came across from friends or unreleased material I felt needed a home.
Meanwhile JNN has definately matured and is well respected and known for the high quality obscurities. There is no definate genre happening here, though the common factor of all these releases is experimental and avant gardistic; JNN releases will varry between experimental (ambient), lo-fi noise and avant-garde.
Meanwhile JNN is also host to an ongoing series called The Full Moon Concert series. Definately worth checking out the works of Dennis Moser aka usr/sbin who hosts an improv concert each full moon on a location somewhere on Second Life.
Also just joined in the Ranks of JNN is the return of Intelligent Machinery; a defunct netlabel that arises again. Though this time solely in the form of compilation albums.
One last quirky bit is that JNN only releases new albums on the 7th of each month.
It's definately worth checking out a few (or all) of these albums, you'll be surprised!
